This is Davenport, but no Dorothy we are not in Iowa

Departed Half Moon Bay.  The day was clear but over cast.  As we rounded the approach buoys to head south, we discovered that we had both wind and seas right on our nose.

Motored into the wind all day long.  Waves over the bow made visibility through the forward windows a problem.  Saw a few dolphins and many sea lions.  Three of the dolphins were in a row and looked like the humps of the Loch Ness monster.  Basically a boring trip...reference "sleeping Craig" picture.  We did have good visibility as you can see, but not much other than the waves crashing on the shore to photograph.  Arrived into Santa Cruz about 1600.

Santa Cruz was a challenging approach in the dark last July 4th; much less so in the daylight, but a stiff current running into the harbor and a narrow channel.

We are currently tied to the end of dock "D" with two other boats rafted outboard of us.  Craig is glad we got here early as we will be in Santa Cruz for ten days while Sue flies to Germany for a business meeting.  Because we are tied directly to the dock with others rafted onto us, we will not have to move when they leave.  Yea!

It's raining here, so Craig will try to get a picture of the boat raft tomorrow.
