Motor-sailed from Santa Barbara Harbor to Oxnard (Channel Islands Harbor).

Sadly, this is the point where we have to say farewell to Brian.  He took a shuttle to LAX and Virgin back to San Francisco.  His humor and advice will be missed for the rest of the trip, as well as his trail-mix.

We are docked at newly renovated marina right in front of the Channel Islands Yacht Club.  [If you are looking for a long-term berth, this is the place.]  The club has a 90 foot end tie at the end of "C" Dock that we had reserved a space on...free for first night.  We arrived to discover another cruising sailboat (from Vancouver) taking most of the space, so Sue docked at the restaurant next door and Brian and Craig walked over the negotiated a 20 foot move to make room for Seasilk.

We all had lunch at the restaurant next door, stopped back by the YC for a key and then Brian went to the boat for his gear and we all waited near the Harbormaster's office until his shuttle arrived.

Turned out that Thursday evenings are "movie night" at the Channel Islands Yacht Club, so Sue and Craig went and saw the comedy Young Frankenstein and had margaritas, pinot noir, popcorn, nachos and candy for dinner...yum!  Sue took an Oyster Point burgee and exchanged for the very colorful Channel Islands burgee.  Great fun.
