Party Time!

Oct 28-29

Turtle Bay is very large, over 6 miles across after you get into the 2 mile wide entrance.  There is a village there with several restaurants and a number of stores.  The Baja Ha Ha has a pavilion on the hill above the village to host its annual Turtle Bay party.

We arrived about 1730 on the 28th after having sailed the entire first leg of the rally and having averaged over 6.3 knots.  We anchored in about the middle of the fleet.  A panga (fishing boat) came by offering fuel so we took on 37 liters to replenish what we had used for the generator and making water during the trip.

Leg one had been a lumpy ride so everyone was anxious to get off the boat and experience terra firma again.  We avoided inflating the dingy and took one of the local pangas ashore for some R&R (refreshment and relaxation).
